hey there

This is my #1 self-care strategy.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve said, “I’m giving myself grace,” because as we all know, we’ve been handed a lot of extra to handle. I’ve encouraged clients to do this as they embark in a massive lifestyle shift because it’s important to remind yourself how much you are doing and dealing with in order to get through it sometimes. This is my favorite self-care strategy  – and it costs nothing.

Give yourself grace.

This is a mental self-care practice, that over time will allow you to push fears aside and go after what you want. This is not a cop out. It’s not a weakness and it’s not an excuse to slack off.

It’s a true act of self-love.

It’s resting when you need rest. And not feeling guilty about it. Wouldn’t you rather rest 1 day, than quit altogether?

It’s being ok with veering off course one day in order to create new memories or spend time with friends or family. But then it’s getting back on track.

This is not an easy practice, but you can fine tune it over time. It becomes a habit that is valuable beyond measure. It’s like a muscle that you have to consistently exercise. This is not materialistic. It doesn’t cost money and you can practice this anytime, anywhere, under any circumstance.

Giving yourself grace is a way to allow the interruptions life throws at you to be just that – a normal part of life.

No one is perfect, especially not 100% of the time.

Women tend to berate themselves over and over again until they’ve lost all confidence. This kind of self-sabotage is a side effect from a culture that has unreasonable expectations for women, especially mothers. Instead, try talking to yourself like you would a loving friend or family member. Have empathy for yourself for a change.

Mamas! Give yourself some grace. You’re doing great.
