The Key To Healthy Aging? Muscle Health

hey there

Muscle health is so important in all life stages, but especially as we age. After the age of 40, it becomes more difficult to build muscle. It’s not impossible and in my opinion, it should be something everyone has as a goal. Because muscle = mobility and mobility allows you to live a healthier lifestyle – therefore, allowing the aging process to be less troublesome.

Skeletal muscle allows you to move. It provides you mobility. If you lose mobility (muscle) as you age, you’re at a higher risk for low mobility-related health problems. Adding and preserving skeletal muscle is going to protect you from falls and broken bones – and when this happens in older age, it can be detrimental.

Skeletal muscle improves your metabolism as well. Your glucose utilization and lipid (fat) utilization ability is dependent on your muscle. So focusing on building and preserving your skeletal muscle can protect you from:

– diabetes

– detrimental falls / breaks

– obesity

– potentially cancer

If you’re able to keep your muscle healthy, you have a good chance of avoiding obesity, diabetes, cancer, and other degenerative diseases. You’ll also have a better chance of recovering faster from injuries.

A muscle-centric, holistic lifestyle approach is the way to a fuller, more active, and more vibrant life. To keep your muscle strong and healthy, you’ll need to eat enough protein, strength train, and assist the body in cellular turnover.

You’ve likely heard of superfoods and the various benefits they have on your overall health, immunity, and ability to keep inflammation at bay. But, there is new kid on the block, called Urolithin A.

Urolithin A: a powerful postbiotic

Urolithin A is not found directly in pomegranates. Instead, our gut microbiome converts the ellagitannin polyphenols into this powerful postbiotic nutrient. Unfortunately, research has shown less than 30-40% of adults have the right microbiome flora to create Urolithin, and for those of us who do have the right microbiome, you’d have to drink 6 cups of pomegranate juice to get a clinically proven amount. With 30 grams of sugar per cup of pomegranate juice, this just isn’t a viable option to get a clinically significant dose of Urolithin A.

Enter Mitopure.

Mitopure is a clinically tested, pure Urolithin A supplement that is able to address multiple hallmarks of aging. It induces mitophagy, the cellular clean-up of our damaged and dysfunctional mitochondria, and has been shown to improve muscle strength and endurance in healthy yet sedentary adults. A reduction in inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein, was also observed in these trials.

The topical application of Mitopure® on the skin has been clinically proven to energize the skin cells and help combat both intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external) aging factors.

I have personally been taking Mitopure for the last 5 months and have seen a noticeable difference in muscle strength and muscle endurance. But if you don’t want to take my word for it, you can read the clinical trials and science behind it.

While our society continues to search for a true fountain of youth, embracing a holistic approach to aging can lead to a fuller and more vibrant life. With knowledge and a healthy lifestyle, we can navigate aging with grace and vitality.
